Eight-part writing at this level rarely feels overcomplicated, but Miškinis builds genuine harmonic richness without losing the text or exhausting singers. The joyous character lives in the writing itself, not in forcing energy from your ensemble, which means even a developing choir can deliver something genuinely moving.

Luminous and unhurried, with moments of quiet radiance punctuated by fuller harmonic blocks that open outward. The eight parts create depth and spaciousness; there's a meditative quality even within the joyous text, as if celebration itself is being savored.

Choirs with strong upper voices and stable middle voices, typically at the college level or advanced high school ensembles. Singers should be comfortable with four-part textures within their section and able to tune in a divisi-heavy score.

• Balance the two soprano lines and two alto lines in the high register by having singers sit or stand so they can hear each other's intonation; these voices carry much of the harmonic color.
• Bring out the text by rehearsing sections without vibrato first, then gradually reintroducing it once intonation and blend lock in.
• Mark the phrase arcs in score before rehearsals; the liturgical text's natural rhythm can guide phrasing, but singers need explicit direction to avoid stopping at bar lines.
• Test the balance between the lower four voice parts (AATTBB) in an early rehearsal; the two tenor lines often need support to sit securely above the bass layer.

Ideal for a sacred concert or liturgical service where you want to feature accomplished voices in a shorter work (3-5 minutes). It pairs well with other Miškinis settings or with Renaissance motets, offering a contemporary harmonic perspective on liturgical joy.
