Sherri Porterfield

Sherri Porterfield directs choirs at Cedar Park Middle School in Cedar Park, Texas, and has shaped award-winning choral programs across Missouri, Kansas, and Texas. Her ensembles have earned numerous first-place and sweepstakes honors at competitions and performed at several state music educators conventions. She previously served as an adjunct assistant professor of music education at the University of Missouri-Kansas City Conservatory of Music and has guest-conducted honor choirs at elementary, middle, and high school levels throughout the country.

With over 175 published choral compositions to her name, Porterfield has received annual ASCAP awards for her writing since 1997. She holds a B.S.E. in music education from the University of Memphis and a Master of Music in choral conducting from the University of Missouri-Kansas City. Her recognition includes four selections to Who's Who Among America's Teachers and inclusion in multiple national directories. A native of Poplar Bluff, Missouri, she remains active in the Texas Music Educators Association, Texas Choral Directors Association, and the American Choral Directors Association.
