About the Composer: Steve Hodges

Steve Hodges holds degrees from Western Oregon University (B.S.) and Central Washington University (M.A. in Music Education). Over four decades in public school music education, he directed bands, choirs, and small ensembles at all levels before retiring from full-time teaching.

Since 1986, Hodges has composed more than 120 concert band works published by Alfred Music, along with choral arrangements for Staff Music and Shawnee Press. His compositions appear regularly at state conventions and festivals worldwide, and his commissioned works have been performed by honor bands and schools across North America. His music has also been featured on TBS and ESPN broadcasts. An ASCAP member with multiple standard awards, Hodges continues to engage with community music in The Dalles, Oregon, and takes particular joy in hearing his grandchildren perform his pieces in their school bands.
