About the Arranger: Scott Watson

Scott Watson brings three and a half decades of public school teaching experience to his work as a composer and arranger. He spent his early career building instrumental programs in the Parkland School District (Allentown, PA), first directing high school bands and then coordinating elementary band and strings across multiple buildings. His deep knowledge of what student musicians at every level can accomplish informs every note he writes.

Now Associate Professor of Music at Cairn University in Langhorne, Pennsylvania, Watson continues to shape music education through both composition and teaching. His catalog includes more than 120 published works for concert band, string orchestra, and chamber ensembles. His arrangements and original compositions have been performed at the Academy of Music in Philadelphia, the Midwest Clinic in Chicago, and the White House, and he serves as an exclusive composer and clinician for Alfred Publications. Watson is also the author of Using Technology to Unlock Musical Creativity (Oxford University Press, 2011).
