About the Composer: Robert Sheldon
Robert Sheldon stands among the most frequently performed composers in the wind band repertoire. His works appear regularly on contest and concert programs across the United States and internationally, and his music has been performed at venues including Carnegie Hall, the Kennedy Center, and the Sydney Opera House. Sheldon's contributions to music education extend beyond composition; he served as lead author of Sound Innovations for Concert Band and maintains an active schedule as guest conductor for All-State and Regional Honor Bands.
His accolades include recognition from the American School Band Director's Association, Phi Beta Mu, and the American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers. Sheldon has conducted and presented clinics throughout North America, Europe, Asia, and Australia, and received an honorary doctorate from VanderCook College of Music in 2020. He continues to accept commissions and produces new concert band works annually.
