Infinite Quest, by Todd Stalter, is descriptive music for life's bold adventures. After the introduction's portrayal of the importance of our search, we set off confidently, encountering strange mysteries, the fear and danger of the unknown, and mystical places along the way. The peculiar feeling of déjà vu ("Haven't I experienced this before?") is expressed by recalling music from a previous composition, "Quasars." Like déjà vu, the quoted music is not exact, but in its new state suggests a connection to a prior experience. (2:05)

About the Composer: Todd Stalter
Todd Stalter spent 34 years building the Eureka High School band program in Illinois into a nationally recognized ensemble. His marching band won 16 Class 1A state championships, his concert band earned consistent Superior ratings at IHSA contests, and his groups performed at venues ranging from Chicago's Orchestra Hall to Walt Disney World and the Cotton Bowl.
Beyond the high school podium, Stalter has guest-conducted All-State Bands in Georgia and Delaware, adjudicated at state and regional levels, and presented clinics on composition and music education across the Midwest. His concert band and string orchestra works appear on state festival lists nationwide and are featured in the "Teaching Music Through Performance in Band" series. He holds degrees in music education and trumpet performance from Illinois State University, where he studied with members of the President's Own United States Marine Band.
