Brian Balmages has built a career spanning orchestral, band, and chamber music, earning recognition from institutions including the American School Band Directors Association and the American Bandmasters Association. His works have appeared in major concert halls worldwide, from Carnegie Hall to the Sydney Opera House, and his compositions have been featured at presidential events and performed by ensembles ranging from professional orchestras to elementary school bands.
As Director of MakeMusic Publications and Digital Education for Alfred and MakeMusic, Balmages continues to shape music education through both composition and leadership. He maintains an active guest conducting schedule with all-state ensembles, university groups, and professional orchestras across North America and internationally.
