Joseph M. Martin

Joseph M. Martin combines deep training in classical piano with a prolific output as a composer and arranger. After earning degrees in piano performance from Furman University and the University of Texas at Austin, where he also taught in the Piano Pedagogy Department, Martin built a career performing solo recitals and concertos with orchestras across the United States and Mexico. His recognition includes winning the Nina Plant Wideman Competition and performing with the Guadalajara Symphony Orchestra.

Today Martin directs his compositional energy toward sacred music and church music settings, having performed his works in venues ranging from Carnegie Hall to worship spaces across North America. His catalog spans an unusually broad range of styles and genres, reflecting both his classical foundation and his deep connection to congregational music. He lives in Austin, Texas with his family.
