About the Composer: Kirk Vogel

Kirk Vogel holds degrees in Music Education from Capital University (1980) and the University of Northern Colorado (1987). Throughout his career in Colorado public schools, he taught band, orchestra, choir, and jazz ensemble at multiple levels, earning recognition when his ensembles performed at the Colorado Music Educators Association Annual Convention and other regional venues.

As a composer, Vogel has been published by Kjos Music Company, Alfred Music, Grand Mesa Music, and Southern Music. His works have won the CMEA Composers Competition four times and have been performed by community ensembles, college groups, and orchestras including the Pittsburgh Symphony. Active in retirement as a composer, guest conductor, clinician, and adjudicator, Vogel holds membership in ASCAP and was inducted into the Colorado Music Educators Hall of Fame.
