About the Composer: Sally K. Albrecht

Sally K. Albrecht

Sally K. Albrecht has shaped elementary and choral music education for over thirty years through her prolific output and direct work with school musicians. As a conductor, she has led honor choirs at major venues including Lincoln Center, Carnegie Hall, and The Kennedy Center, and has been recognized annually by ASCAP for her contributions to music since 1987. Her catalog spans more than 600 choral works and 75 songbooks and musicals, many designed specifically for young singers and general music classrooms.

Albrecht's career includes leadership roles in music publishing and university teaching at Oakland University, Jersey City State College, and Meredith College. She earned degrees from Rollins College (B.A. in Music and Theater), the University of Miami (M.A. in Drama and M.M. in Accompanying), and has received the Distinguished Alumna Award from both institutions. She currently lives in North Carolina with her husband, composer and arranger Jay Althouse.
