Carol Tornquist began playing piano by ear at age four in northwestern Pennsylvania and studied formally at the Warren Conservatory of Music before earning her B.S. in Music Education from the State University of New York at Fredonia. After teaching vocal music in upstate New York and instructing for the international Yamaha Music School, she moved to Nashville and launched a career writing piano transcriptions that has since produced over four hundred published collections.
