About the Composer: William Owens
William Owens brings three decades of classroom experience to his compositional work. A VanderCook College of Music graduate (1985) and native of Gary, Indiana, Owens has established himself as a prolific voice in young band music, with over 300 published titles since 1993. His work appears on required lists across North America and is frequently featured in educational texts.
Recognized by the Texas Bandmasters Association and his alma mater as a Distinguished Alumnus, Owens combines practical teaching knowledge with compositional craft. His commissions include projects from the South Plains College Department of Fine Arts, Phi Beta Mu International, and the American Bandmasters Association. Based in Fort Worth, Texas, Owens remains active as a clinician and conductor while holding membership in ASCAP, TMEA, and Phi Beta Mu International.
