Timothy Loest

Timothy Loest has spent over thirty years in the middle school classroom while building an international reputation as a composer whose works balance artistic ambition with genuine accessibility for young musicians. His pieces are performed regularly across the country, and his fingerprints appear throughout music education through collaborations on pedagogical methods like Measures of Success and Warm-ups and Beyond. Recognition of his contributions includes the 2017 Cloyd Myers Memorial Award for Excellence in Music Education from the Illinois Grade School Music Association, and his compositions have reached audiences far beyond the concert hall, appearing on network television programs including The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon and Good Morning America.

Loest's career reflects a deep commitment to elevating both the quality of music students encounter and the craft of composition itself. He holds degrees from Illinois State University and Northwestern University, maintains active membership in ASCAP, and founded Fanfare Music Press in 2022 to publish compositions and arrangements that meet the highest artistic standards.
