Roland Barrett

Roland Barrett holds a faculty position at the University of Oklahoma, where he teaches music theory and composition with a focus on twentieth-century topics at both undergraduate and graduate levels. He served fifteen years as Assistant Director of Bands before joining the university faculty in 2001, and continues to arrange music for the Pride of Oklahoma marching band.

Barrett has established himself as a prolific composer and arranger with over two hundred published works for symphonic band, chamber ensembles, and marching band. His compositions have been programmed by the Dallas Wind Symphony and countless All-State and All-Region honor bands, with performances featured on NPR and at major conventions including the Midwest Band & Orchestra Convention and the International Trumpet Guild. He is a multiple recipient of the ASCAPlus award.
