About the Composer: Joseph M. Martin
Joseph M. Martin studied piano performance at Furman University in South Carolina and later earned his master's degree from the University of Texas at Austin, where he taught in the Piano Pedagogy Department for five years. His concert career took him across the United States and Mexico, including performances with major symphony orchestras and a nationally broadcast recital from a historic venue in Guadalajara. His winning entry in the Nina Plant Wideman Competition led to performances with the Guadalajara Symphony Orchestra.
Today, Martin divides his time between composing and performing in church settings and at musicians' conferences, having shifted his focus toward sacred music and worship leadership. His compositions and arrangements have graced stages from Carnegie Hall to regional theaters, but he has found his deepest calling in serving congregations across the United States and Canada. He makes his home in Austin, Texas with his wife Sue and their children Jonathan and Aubrey.
