About the Composer: Todd Stalter

Todd Stalter spent 34 years building the band program at Eureka High School in Illinois into a powerhouse known statewide for musical excellence. His marching band claimed 16 Class 1A state championships, his concert band earned consistent superior ratings at IHSA contests, and his ensembles performed at Orchestra Hall in Chicago and Walt Disney World, as well as winning festival championships at the Cotton and Liberty Bowls. He was inducted into the Illinois State Marching Band Championships Hall of Fame.

Beyond his tenure as Director of Bands, Stalter has maintained an active career as a guest conductor, adjudicator, and clinician throughout the Midwest, leading All-State bands in Georgia and Delaware and appearing with regional ensembles including the Rockford Wind Ensemble and Bloomington Community Band. His compositions for band and string orchestra are performed internationally and appear regularly on state contest and festival programs; several pieces are featured in the respected "Teaching Music Through Performance in Band" series published by GIA. He earned his Bachelor of Music Education (cum laude) and Master of Music in Trumpet Performance from Illinois State University.
