About the Arranger: Mary Donnelly

Mary Donnelly spent thirty years teaching general music and choir in the Washoe County School District in Reno, Nevada, where she earned a Master's Degree in Education from Lesley College with coursework focused on integrating the arts across disciplines. She holds a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Nevada, Reno in English and French, and is active in ACDA, NEA, and ASCAP.

In 1985, Donnelly began collaborating with George Strid when they were asked to co-teach a sixth-grade general music class. Their principal challenged them to write a musical for Reading Week, and that first project launched a partnership that has produced over two hundred songs and twenty-five musicals. The pair brings decades of classroom experience to their arrangements, with a keen understanding of what young singers can accomplish.
