Marilynn Ham

Marilynn Ham built her reputation as one of the country's most sought-after arrangers of advanced sacred piano music, with a catalog exceeding twenty-five published collections. A concert pianist and recording artist, she has spent decades in academic settings where she shaped generations of pianists; her tenure at Bethel College (Indiana) as Artist-in-Residence and Assistant Professor of Music began in 1989, following ten years teaching at Barclay College (Kansas), where she received Professor of the Year honors in 1981 and 1987.

Ham's training in music came through both formal education (Bachelor of Music from Northern Michigan University; Master of Music from the University of Wisconsin) and the distinctive musical environment of her childhood. Raised in Michigan as the oldest of fifteen children in a Christian family, she sang in church choirs with her siblings and credits her mother's piano playing and her family's devotional music-making with shaping her artistic voice.
