More about this title

About the Artist: Rob Zombie

Rob Zombie emerged as the creative force behind White Zombie, the industrial metal band that defined the 1990s alternative heavy music scene. His distinctive vocal style and theatrical approach to metal performance set him apart in a crowded genre, eventually propelling him toward a solo career that proved even more commercially successful than his band work.

Beyond music, Zombie established himself as a filmmaker with a distinctive visual aesthetic, directing cult horror films that mirrored the raw energy of his songs. His 2006 album Educated Horses demonstrated his ability to evolve his sound while maintaining the aggressive, groove-oriented metal approach that defines his artistry.

Why we love this

These tabs capture the crushing riffs and syncopated rhythms that make Educated Horses a standout metal record, giving advanced players the chance to decode Zombie's signature heavy grooves directly from the source. The collection spans 11 tracks with enough harmonic and textural variety to keep players engaged beyond the obvious power chord patterns, rewarding careful attention to dynamics and timing.

What to expect

Raw, propulsive, and heavy. These tracks combine the crashing distortion and mechanical precision of industrial metal with the swagger and attitude of classic heavy rock, creating a visceral listening and playing experience that demands both power and control.

Who it's for

Intermediate to advanced guitarists who want to master heavy metal riffing with industrial textures and groove-oriented song structures. Players pursuing metal technique will benefit from the rhythmic complexity and dynamic control required to execute these parts authentically.

How to get the most out of it

  • Lock into the downbeat-heavy groove by drilling the kick drum patterns first; these tabs sync precisely with the drum work, so understanding the rhythmic pocket is essential before nailing the riff.
  • Pay attention to the muted and unmuted string articulations marked in the TAB; Zombie's tone relies on controlled dynamics and palm-muting to create the industrial edge that defines these arrangements.
  • Work through passages at half tempo to capture the syncopated rhythms accurately, then gradually increase speed to match the recorded intensity without sacrificing clarity.
  • Use the original recordings as your primary reference; these tabs are transcribed from the album versions, so comparing your playing directly against Zombie's tone and timing will keep you on track.

How to use it

Guitarists preparing a metal-focused recital or performance showcase can draw on individual tracks from this collection to demonstrate command of contemporary heavy music. The variety across the 11 songs allows performers to select pieces that match their technical level and musical personality.
