About the Composer: Steve Hodges
Steve Hodges holds degrees from Western Oregon University (Bachelor of Science) and Central Washington University (Master of Music Education). His four-decade career in public school music education shaped his compositional voice: accessible, energetic, and built for ensemble success at every level.
Since 1986, Hodges has published more than 120 concert band compositions through Alfred Music, along with choral arrangements through Staff Music and Shawnee Press. His work appears regularly at state conventions and festivals worldwide, and has been featured on TBS and ESPN programming. Commissioned by honor bands and school programs across North America, his music reflects both his teaching experience and his commitment to writing pieces that musicians genuinely enjoy playing. He resides in The Dalles, Oregon, where he remains active in community music and delights in hearing his compositions performed by his own grandchildren's school bands.
