About the Composer: Steve Hodges
Steve Hodges studied music education at Western Oregon University and Central Washington University, earning degrees that shaped four decades of teaching across band, choir, and ensemble settings in public schools. Since 1986, he has composed over 120 concert band works published by Alfred Music, alongside choral arrangements for Staff Music and Shawnee Press. His music appears regularly at state conventions and festivals worldwide, with commissions from honor bands and schools across North America and broadcast placements on TBS and ESPN.
Hodges holds membership in ASCAP and has received multiple composition awards throughout his career. Now retired and living in The Dalles, Oregon, he remains active in community music alongside his wife, Teddie. He takes particular joy in learning that his grandchildren are performing his compositions in their own school bands.
