About the Composer: Mark Williams
Mark Williams composed over 200 works for school bands, orchestras, and choirs, establishing himself as a trusted voice in music education across three decades. His credentials include co-authorship of the Accent on Achievement Band Method, clinician appearances in 34 states plus five Canadian provinces and Australia, and service as woodwind performer and arranger for the 560th Air Force Band. A Chicago native who spent formative years in Spokane, Washington, Williams earned his Bachelor of Arts in Education and Master of Education from Eastern Washington University and taught elementary band throughout Washington state.
Williams' prolific output earned recognition including the Western International Band Clinic's Gralia Competition and multiple ASCAP Special Awards. Beyond the manuscript page, he performed regularly on bassoon and served as Conductor and Artistic Director for the Spokane British Brass Band, bringing the same creative energy to performance that he brought to composition.
