About the Composer: Mark Williams

Mark Williams composed over 200 works for school bands, orchestras, and choirs during a career dedicated to younger musicians. He co-authored the Accent on Achievement Band Method and spent decades as a clinician and guest conductor, traveling across 34 states, five Canadian provinces, and Australia. His work earned recognition including the Western International Band Clinic's Gralia Competition and multiple ASCAP Special Awards.

Based in Washington state for much of his teaching career, Williams specialized in elementary band instruction and brought his dual expertise as a performer (bassoon) and conductor to every piece he wrote. He earned degrees in music education from Eastern Washington University and served as woodwind performer and arranger for the 560th Air Force Band. Beyond composition, Williams conducted the Spokane British Brass Band, blending his roles as educator, clinician, and active musician.
