Andy Beck

Andy Beck leads the choral publications division at Alfred Music and has composed and arranged more than 450 choral works, vocal resources, and children's musicals in active performance. His pedagogical resources, including Sing at First Sight, Foundations in Choral Sight Singing, and Vocalize! 45 Vocal Warm-Ups That Teach Technique, have shaped choral instruction across the country. A tenor with deep roots in ensemble singing, Beck performs with the North Carolina Master Chorale Chamber Choir and has been an Alfred studio singer since 1992.

Beck's work as a guest conductor, choreographer, adjudicator, and clinician has taken him across the United States and internationally. He has served as commissioned composer and guest conductor for honor choirs spanning all age levels, including all-state groups throughout the Southeast. His educational credentials include a Bachelor's degree in Music Education from Ithaca College and a Master's degree in Music Education from Northwest Missouri State University, grounding his prolific output in rigorous pedagogical thinking.
