About the Arranger: Richard L. Saucedo
Richard L. Saucedo spent 31 years as Director of Bands and Chairman of Performing Arts at Carmel High School in Indiana, where he built one of the nation's most consistently successful band programs. His ensembles earned state and national recognition across concert, jazz, and marching categories; Carmel's Wind Symphony performed at the Music for All National Concert Band Festival three times and claimed the Indiana State Champion title in 2013, while the Marching Greyhounds finished in the top ten at BOA Nationals for 17 consecutive years, capturing national championships in 2005 and 2012.
Following his retirement in 2013, Saucedo was honored as Indiana's "Bandmaster of the Year" (1998-99) and "Outstanding Music Educator" (2010), and later inducted into the Music for All Hall of Fame (2015) and Drum Corps International Hall of Fame (2022). As a freelance composer and arranger, he creates works across marching bands, concert bands, choral groups, and orchestras. He served as Brass Arranger and Composer for the Cavaliers Drum and Bugle Corps, contributing to five DCI world championships, and currently serves as music ensemble coordinator for the Blue Devils Drum and Bugle Corps. Saucedo is also a Senior Educational Consultant for Music for All and serves as Chief Judge Team Leader for Bands of America competitions.
