Brian Balmages has built a career spanning orchestral, band, and chamber music, with performances at venues including Carnegie Hall, the Kennedy Center, and the Sydney Opera House. His work has earned him the A. Austin Harding Award from the American School Band Directors Association, the 2020 NBA William D. Revelli Composition Contest, and membership in the American Bandmasters Association.

Beyond composition, Balmages maintains an active conducting schedule with all-state ensembles, university groups, and professional orchestras worldwide. He has appeared at the Midwest Clinic, Western International Band Clinic, and numerous national conferences. Currently serving as Director of MakeMusic Publications and Digital Education for Alfred and MakeMusic, he continues to shape music education through both creative work and institutional leadership.
