Joseph M. Martin studied piano performance at Furman University and later earned his master's degree from the University of Texas at Austin, where he taught in the Piano Pedagogy Department for five years. His career spans both concert performance and sacred music; he won the Nina Plant Wideman Competition and performed with the Guadalajara Symphony Orchestra, and his work has been presented at Carnegie Hall and numerous churches across North America. Martin has become known for his prolific output as a composer and arranger, particularly in the choral and sacred music genres.
