About the Composer: Gary Fagan

Gary Fagan brings four decades of experience as both educator and composer to his work in band music. A Virginia native, he spent 36 years directing bands in Albemarle County before transitioning to higher education, where he has taught arranging and served as a University Supervisor at James Madison University. His compositions and arrangements have been performed at prestigious venues including the White House and the Midwest Band and Orchestra Clinic, and his contributions to music education have earned him recognition as an Outstanding Educator from the Virginia Governor's School for the Visual and Performing Arts and the Piedmont Council of the Arts.

Fagan remains actively engaged in the profession as a percussionist, clinician, and adjudicator. He holds degrees from Bridgewater College and James Madison University, and maintains memberships in ASCAP, the National Band Association, and Phi Beta Mu Bandmasters Fraternity. His work reflects a deep commitment to creating meaningful music that serves both performers and audiences.
