Terry White brings three decades of instrumental music teaching to his compositional work, grounded in formal training at Berklee College of Music (B.M. in Composition) and the University of New Hampshire (M.S. in Music Education). Based in Maine, he has had his music commissioned and performed by the Portland Symphony Orchestra alongside high school and college ensembles throughout the region.

Beyond the classroom, White maintains an active presence as a big band leader in the Portland area, combining his experience as both an educator and performer into music that speaks directly to student musicians. His work reflects a deep understanding of what young ensembles can achieve and what engages them musically.
