About the Composer: Tyler S. Grant

Tyler S. Grant writes concert band music, orchestral works, and chamber pieces that have become standard repertoire at honor festivals and state competitions across North America. His compositions appear regularly on Editor's Choice lists, and his work Panoramic Fanfare won the Dallas Wind Symphony's 2014 Call for Fanfares Competition before being adopted by collegiate and professional ensembles nationwide. Since 2010, Grant has maintained an active commissioning practice, producing new publications annually while serving as a clinician with over 100 school and honor ensembles across 15+ states.

Grant studied instrumental music education and conducting at the University of Alabama under Professor Randall Coleman, and he credits composer Brian Balmages as central to his development as a writer. His music has been performed at the Midwest Clinic, Carnegie Hall, the Meyerson Symphony Center, Music for All's National Concert Band Festival, and the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade. Beyond composing and arranging, Grant conducts clinics throughout the United States and has contributed to Alfred Music's Sound Innovations: Ensemble Development series and publications including School Band & Orchestra Magazine and The Instrumentalist.
