About the Composer: Mark Williams
Mark Williams established himself as a prolific voice in school band composition, creating over 200 works for band, orchestra, and choir throughout his career. A native of Chicago who spent formative years in Spokane, Washington, he earned degrees from Eastern Washington University and balanced a teaching career in Washington elementary bands with extensive clinical and guest conducting work across 34 states, five Canadian provinces, and Australia.
Beyond composition, Williams was a skilled woodwind performer and arranger who served with the 560th Air Force Band and later as conductor and artistic director for the Spokane British Brass Band. His contributions to music education extended to co-authoring the Accent on Achievement Band Method, and his compositions earned recognition including the Western International Band Clinic's Gralia Competition and multiple ASCAP Special Awards.
