About the Composer: Mark Williams

Mark Williams established himself as one of the most prolific and respected voices in school band composition, with over 200 published works spanning band, orchestra, and choir. Beyond the page, he shaped generations of young musicians through his co-authorship of the Accent on Achievement Band Method and his work as an elementary band specialist in Washington schools.

Williams' influence extended far beyond his home state. He served as clinician and guest conductor in 34 states, five Canadian provinces, and Australia, while maintaining an active performance schedule on bassoon and conducting the Spokane British Brass Band. His credentials include a Bachelor of Arts in Education and Master of Education from Eastern Washington University, plus recognition from the Western International Band Clinic's Gralia Competition and multiple ASCAP Special Awards. He also spent time as a woodwind performer and arranger for the 560th Air Force Band, bringing military band tradition into his compositional work.
