About the Composer: Todd Stalter

Todd Stalter built a legendary band program at Eureka High School in Illinois over 34 years, establishing a tradition of competitive excellence that earned state recognition across marching, concert, and pep ensembles. His orchestras performed at Orchestra Hall in Chicago and Walt Disney World, and his leadership extended beyond his own program through conducting All-State Bands in Georgia and Delaware, adjudicating at state contests, and presenting clinics on pedagogy and composition throughout the Midwest.

Stalter studied trumpet and conducting at Illinois State University, where he worked with renowned artists including the Solo Cornet of the President's Own U.S. Marine Band. His compositions for band and string orchestra circulate widely in music education, with many works appearing on state festival lists and included in the Teaching Music Through Performance in Band series published by GIA. He holds membership in the Illinois State Marching Band Championships Hall of Fame.
