About the Composer: Mark Williams

Mark Williams established himself as one of the most prolific and respected voices in school band music, with over 200 compositions spanning band, orchestra, and choir. Beyond the page, he shaped generations of young musicians through his co-authorship of the Accent on Achievement Band Method and his work as clinician and guest conductor across 34 states, five Canadian provinces, and Australia.

Based in Washington state for much of his career, Williams brought deep expertise in elementary band instruction while maintaining active performance and arranging credentials. His service with the 560th Air Force Band and his role as conductor and artistic director for the Spokane British Brass Band informed his compositional voice. Eastern Washington University educated, nationally recognized through ASCAP awards and the Gralia Competition, Williams crafted music that works in real rehearsal rooms with real young musicians.
