About the Composer: Irv Rothenberg
Irv Rothenberg holds degrees in Music Education and Orff-Schulwerk from West Chester University in Pennsylvania. He spent 25 years teaching elementary music in the Smyrna School District while also directing the 140-voice Optimistic Voices of Smyrna Middle School for seven years, establishing a reputation for engaging young singers in large ensemble settings.
Beyond the classroom, Rothenberg has served as Musical Director for over 10 Broadway-style musicals and currently conducts two church choirs in Delaware. His compositions, published through Alfred Publishing, reflect his deep understanding of what singers enjoy performing. He has led workshops and festivals throughout Pennsylvania and Delaware, sharing his expertise in accessible choral writing.
