About the Composer: Robert Sheldon

Robert Sheldon ranks among today's most frequently performed composers for wind band. His works appear on contest and concert programs internationally, and his music has been performed at Carnegie Hall, Symphony Hall Boston, the Kennedy Center, and the Sydney Opera House. Sheldon is the lead author of Sound Innovations for Concert Band and has received accolades from the American School Band Director's Association, Phi Beta Mu, and ASCAP.

Beyond his prolific output as a composer, Sheldon maintains an active presence as a guest conductor for All-State and regional honor bands, and he regularly presents clinics and seminars at universities and state music education conferences across the United States and internationally, including appearances in Japan, Canada, Italy, Germany, Australia, and China. He accepts ongoing commissions and produces numerous publications annually. VanderCook College of Music awarded him an honorary doctorate in 2020.
