Kirby Shaw's influence spans five decades and six continents. With advanced degrees in Music Education, Choral Composition, and Choral Conducting, he built his reputation by founding and directing acclaimed vocal jazz ensembles at the College of the Siskiyous, Colorado State University, and the University of Missouri at Kansas City. His teaching style combines rigorous musicianship with infectious humor and has earned respect from jazz luminaries like Bobby McFerrin and Al Jarreau.
As a composer and arranger, Shaw has created over 2,500 works that have sold nearly 20 million copies worldwide and earned multiple ASCAP awards. His catalog spans educational recordings, college albums, and solo projects, all while maintaining his commitment to choral music education across North America, Europe, Australia, and beyond.
