About the Composer: Patti Drennan
Patti Drennan holds degrees in music education from Oklahoma State University and the University of Oklahoma. She spent 28 years directing choral programs in Norman Public Schools, first at West Mid-High School where she earned Teacher of the Year honors, then at Norman High School where she built four choirs known for consistent superior ratings at contests. In 2004, the Oklahoma Choral Directors Association recognized her with the Director of Distinction Award.
As a composer and arranger, Drennan has published over 425 choral octavos with major publishers, with sales exceeding two million copies. She has served as clinician in 19 states plus Canada, adjudicated choral competitions across the Southwest, and led composer weekends for churches throughout the United States and Canada. Since retiring from classroom teaching in 2004, she has continued composing, directing music at First Baptist Church in Norman for nearly a decade, and collaborating musically with her daughter Emily through RoxSteady Music and symphonic performances.
