About the Arranger: Timothy Loest

Timothy Loest has spent over three decades in the classroom, building a reputation for writing and arranging music that works for developing ensembles without compromising musical integrity. His compositions and arrangements are performed by bands worldwide, and his influence extends through collaborations with major publishers including C.L. Barnhouse, FJH Music, and MakeMusic. In 2017, his original work Cloud Gate (Reflections of a City) reached an audience of over 5,000 at Chicago's Millennium Park, and that same year he received the Cloyd Myers Memorial Award for Excellence in Music Education from the Illinois Grade School Music Association.

Loest is the founder of Fanfare Music Press and has shaped instrumental pedagogy through his work on several widely adopted methods, including Measures of Success, Warm-ups and Beyond, and Rhythms and Beyond. His music has appeared on network television including The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon and Good Morning America. He holds degrees from Illinois State University and Northwestern University, maintains ASCAP membership, and continues to accept commissions for band.
