About the Composer: Sally K. Albrecht

Sally K. Albrecht has shaped American school choral music for over three decades, serving as Director of School Choral, Vocal, and Elementary Publications at major educational publishers including Alfred Music. A conductor and clinician renowned for integrating movement into choral performance, she has led honor choirs at prestigious venues including Lincoln Center, Carnegie Hall, and The Kennedy Center. Since 1987, she has received the ASCAP Special Music Award annually and maintains over 600 published choral works alongside 75 larger theatrical and songbook projects.

Educated at Rollins College (B.A., 1976) and the University of Miami (M.A. in Drama, M.M. in Accompanying), Albrecht has taught at Oakland University, Jersey City State College, and Meredith College. She is a Distinguished Alumna of both the University of Miami Frost School of Music and Rollins College, where she serves on the Board of Trustees. Based in Wake Forest, North Carolina, she continues composing and conducting while contributing to national leadership in music education.
