About the Composer: Andrew H. Dabczynski

Andrew H. Dabczynski served as Emeritus Professor of Music Education at Brigham Young University, where he established the BYU "New Horizons Orchestra" as both a beginning string ensemble for adults and a training laboratory for string educators. His contributions to music education earned him BYU's Joseph E. White Fellowship for Teaching and Learning, as well as Utah ASTA's "Higher Education Teacher of the Year" award in 2005 and recognition for "Outstanding Contributions to Music Education" in 2014.

Dabczynski's career spans teaching positions at the Eastman School of Music and in public school districts across New York and Michigan, combined with performance experience as a violist in regional orchestras and as a member of the Colden String Quartet. He co-authored the String Explorer method series, widely respected in string education, and has maintained active involvement with the American String Teachers Association at both national and state levels.
