Richard L. Saucedo shaped one of Indiana's most decorated high school band programs during his 31 years as Director of Bands at Carmel High School. His tenure produced multiple state champions, three appearances at the Music for All National Concert Band Festival, and a marching ensemble that cracked the Bands of America top ten for 17 consecutive years, claiming national titles in 2005 and 2012. The rare achievement of winning a BOA National Championship while simultaneously performing at the Midwest Clinic in 2005 stands as a defining moment in his career.
Beyond the high school podium, Saucedo has established himself as a prolific arranger and composer whose work spans marching bands, concert ensembles, choral groups, and orchestras. His contributions to the Cavaliers Drum and Bugle Corps earned him credit on five DCI World Championship titles, and his consulting role with Music for All has shaped the national competitive landscape. Honored as Indiana's Bandmaster of the Year and inducted into both the Music for All and Drum Corps International Halls of Fame, Saucedo continues his impact as a senior educational consultant and chief judge for Bands of America.
