This version of Dark Adventure by Ralph Ford is part of our Belwin FLEX offerings and is designed with maximum flexibility for use by any mix of instruments---wind, strings, and percussion, including like- or mixed-ensembles with as few as 5 players. The suggested instrumentation and a customizable Teacher Map will help you plan out how to best assign parts to suit your ensemble's needs. The 5-part instrumentation will support balanced instrumentation of the lower voices. It also comes with supplemental parts for maximum flexibility. About the Composer: Ralph Ford
Ralph Ford (b. 1963) brings together deep teaching experience and prolific compositional output. Over fifteen years as a university faculty member, he taught orchestration, arranging, theory, and applied brass while serving as staff arranger for the band program. He earned his Master of Science degree in 1988 and has since established himself as an exclusive composer and arranger for Belwin/Alfred Music, with over 250 published titles spanning orchestra, concert band, jazz ensemble, and marching band.
Beyond the concert hall, Ford has worked extensively in broadcast and media production, including live radio, television commercials, news music packages for national networks, and video production. His work as a professional arranger began at age fifteen in Panama City, Florida, and has earned him international and regional advertising recognition. His compositions are regularly premiered and performed by university, military, professional, community, and school ensembles worldwide.
