About the Composer: Vince Gassi
Vince Gassi has shaped the landscape of accessible band music since joining Alfred Music in 2006, with more than 100 published works to his name. His compositions balance genuine musical substance with the realities of student ensembles, earning him a reputation as a clinician, guest conductor, and adjudicator across North America. He holds degrees from the University of Western Ontario and the Dick Grove School of Music in Los Angeles, and recently completed his Ph.D. at York University in Toronto.
For a quarter-century, Gassi has taught instrumental music at the elementary and secondary levels while maintaining an active schedule leading workshops on creative engagement and digital workflows for music directors. His pieces appear regularly on contest and festival programs throughout the United States, Canada, Europe, and Japan, with frequent performances at prestigious venues like the Midwest Clinic in Chicago.
