Scott Watson spent 35 years in the classroom as an instrumental music teacher, serving first as Director of Bands at the high school level in Parkland School District (Allentown, PA), then expanding into elementary band and strings coordination across the entire district. His perspective as both educator and composer informs every note he writes: over 120 published works for concert band, string orchestra, and chamber ensembles reflect deep understanding of what students at each level can accomplish and what will engage them musically.

Now Associate Professor of Music at Cairn University, Watson remains active as a clinician, guest conductor for honor bands, and exclusive composer for Alfred Publications. His music has been heard at major venues including the Academy of Music in Philadelphia, the Midwest Clinic in Chicago, and the White House. He is also the author of Using Technology to Unlock Musical Creativity (Oxford University Press, 2011), bringing the same practical wisdom to music education pedagogy that characterizes his compositions.
