About the Composer: Jack Bullock
Jack Bullock brings decades of practical experience across performance, composition, and music education to his work. A trained trumpet player who performed with the Miami Philharmonic Orchestra and Miami Opera Company, he earned undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral degrees in Music Education. His performance background includes work with regional show bands and nationally touring dance ensembles, grounding his compositional voice in real ensemble contexts.
Bullock's output spans over 600 published works for concert band, orchestra, jazz ensemble, and marching band. He served for seven years as an assistant band director at Ithaca College's School of Music and chaired the Music Education Department there for four years. Beyond his teaching tenure of two decades in classroom settings, Bullock has conducted clinics across the United States, Canada, and England. He co-authored the Belwin 21st Century Band Method and contributed arrangements to Music Expressions, Alfred Music/Belwin's school curriculum series. An ASCAP member since 1980, his work has been recognized in Marquis publications.
