About the Composer: Sally K. Albrecht

Sally K. Albrecht brings three decades of experience in choral publishing and education to her work as a composer and conductor. An ASCAP award recipient since 1987, she has published over 600 choral works and 75 larger musicals; her pieces are performed regularly in school and community choirs across the United States. She has conducted honor choirs at prestigious venues including Lincoln Center, Carnegie Hall, and The Kennedy Center, and served as Director of School Choral, Vocal, and Elementary Publications for major educational publishers, most recently Alfred Music.

Albrecht holds degrees from Rollins College (B.A. in Music and Theater, 1976), the University of Miami (M.A. in Drama, 1977, and M.M. in Accompanying, 1979), and has taught at Oakland University, Jersey City State College, and Meredith College. She is particularly recognized for her innovative integration of choral movement into ensemble performance. A native of Cleveland, Ohio, she currently resides in North Carolina with her husband, composer and arranger Jay Althouse.
