Christine H. Barden

Christine H. Barden has shaped early childhood music education through decades of classroom experience and curriculum development. A piano performance graduate from San Francisco State University, she studied with Vladimir Brenner and spent formative years in Europe before becoming one of the first American teachers to study with Yamaha Music Foundation instructors in Japan. She later served as Director of Curriculum and National Chief Instructor for the Yamaha Music Education System for 17 years.

Barden currently teaches piano and composition privately in Reno, Nevada, where she leads Music for Little Mozarts preschool classes and has mentored numerous award-winning student composers and performers. Her clinician presentations on early childhood music pedagogy have reached teachers across the United States, England, Norway, and Singapore. Her published compositions include "Etude Toccata," selected by the National Federation of Music Clubs as a Junior Festival piece.
