About the Composer: Timothy Loest

Timothy Loest has spent over thirty years in the classroom and built a reputation for writing music that works for young ensembles without compromising musical substance. His compositions are performed regularly across the country, and his pedagogical contributions include collaborations on several widely adopted band methods. In 2017, one of his works drew over 5,000 spectators at Chicago's Millennium Park, and that same year he received the Illinois Grade School Music Association's Cloyd Myers Memorial Award for Excellence in Music Education.

Loest's publishing portfolio spans multiple major music houses, and in 2022 he founded Fanfare Music Press to release compositions and arrangements that meet his own standards for quality and craftsmanship. His music has also appeared on network television programs including The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon and Good Morning America. He holds degrees in music education from Illinois State University and Northwestern University and maintains active membership in ASCAP.
