Christ, the Sure Foundation

Christ, the Sure Foundation is a general anthem whose text is inspired by Ephesians 2: 19-22 and by the hymn Christ Is Made the Sure Foundation. It is especially appropriate for Trinity Sunday or the Day of Pentecost. Suggested corresponding lectionary readings include Genesis 11: 1-9, Psalms 53 and 104: 24-34, John 14: 8-17 & 25-27, Acts 2: 1-21, Ephesians 2: 11-22, and Romans 8: 14-17. One basic homiletical theme is that we are the children of God, bound as one through faith in the Holy Trinity and sustained by the Church whose chief conerstone is Jesus Christ.
